We will always implement a reasonable approach to take great care to protect you, and to this effect, we need your help to keep you safe. Keep yourself safe online

• Never reveal your login details to anyone or write them down

• Do not use a password that could be easily guessed by someone else

• Change your password immediately if you suspect someone else knows it

• Log off when you have completed your transaction

• Keep your computer updated with current anti-virus software and the latest browser versions

• Do not send us any confidential account information by email

• Treat emails you receive with caution. Remember that we will never ask you to disclose your personal or account information to us by email ​

Your Username and Password

On registering as a customer with PMCT Accountants & Consultants (PMCT), we assign a temporary username and password, which must be changed and your defined login details used thereafter to access certain restricted parts of our website. We will mostly identify you by your username and password; it is therefore very important, and occasionally we will ask you about your details or questions about past transactions.

You will be provided with login details that are used to uniquely identify you each time you attempt to access your account or initiate payment to us. We protect your username and password with authentication credentials during the login process by encrypting the communication link with Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

To reduce unauthorised access and spamming, you will be asked to enter one-time generated words together with your username and password. Sometimes we will ask you questions that must be answered together with your username and password to access your account.

We deem it an offence against PMCT for an authorised user to compromise login details with anyone to commit fraud. As a registered user, you are responsible for fraudulent acts or information posted on this website by anyone using your username and password. Any breach of the security of login details should be reported to us immediately.

Our system security and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Data Encryption

A “Secure Socket Layer” is a commonly used method of managing the security of messages transmitted across the Internet and is used to connect your computer to our website computers. When you enter sensitive information, we protect the communication link from your browser to our website computers by using a secure (encrypted) communication session. The encrypted communication is established using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the protocol used by all responsible websites on the Internet. You can tell that SSL is in use if you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator when a small padlock icon appears on your browser status bar.

Our systems operate on 256-bit secure encryption. Look for the yellow padlock symbol in your browser status bar. Encryption makes your information unreadable to anyone who might intercept it. In addition, a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is used to connect your browser to our secure servers. To improve security, we allow a team of independent security experts to regularly test our website.

We have taken measures to protect you as a user, and at a minimum, the following have been implemented:

• In an active session will time out if your keyboard is not used for more than 10 minutes.

• Your PMCT Account login will be locked out after three failed access attempts. We recommend that you contact us to reset your account. We will only agree to reset your login details if you correctly satisfy our login questions.

• We will verify your identity before disclosing any information we deem confidential over the phone. In most cases, we shall refuse to answer queries over the phone and prefer you visit any of our offices with identifiable documents before we disclose any information to you.

• We do not guarantee the website will be fault-free, available at all times, or that we will accept liability for any errors or omissions.

Use of Email

Please note that ordinary emails are not secured and advise that you do not send us any confidential information via email. PMCT will only use email to send account and transaction information on entry of data if you have given your consent within 5 minutes of completing data entry. We will not use e-mail to send confidential personal or account information to you. We cannot accept any responsibility for the unauthorised access by a third party and or the corruption of data being sent by individuals to our system.

We will never send emails to you requesting security or any other confidential information. Do not reply to any such emails or disclose any personal information. If you receive a fraudulent email that is designed to look as if it was sent from us, forward the entire email, including the header and footer, to info@pmctaccountants.com, then delete it from your email account. We shall investigate reported fraudulent acts, and as soon as confirmation of fraud is established, we shall inform appropriate authorities, including publishing the fraudulent act on websites to notify other internet users.

Firewalls and Cookies

We store your information in a secure database, and it is accessed only to fulfil transactions and answer account-specific queries. We use firewalls to restrict access to our secured computers to authorised persons only.

As part of our security measures, we may use cookies to enable information about you and your preferences to be stored and to prevent unauthorised access. Our Cookies are temporary and must be accepted.
